WORLD MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS DAY

Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic disease that currently affects around 55,000 people in Spain and gathers 1,800 new diagnoses each year. World Multiple Sclerosis Day raises awareness of a complex, cross-cutting disease that involves healthcare, psychological and social issues.

Aimed by the twofold goal of meeting the needs of people with Multiple Sclerosis and optimizing healthcare resources available to respond current challenges. Shared efforts are emerging to introduce improvements in the management of care resources.

In this context, arises the project “Digitization of the Multiple Sclerosis Care Process”. Through a multi-actor approach, several of the agents involved in the Multiple Sclerosis care process work together to build synergies between the health system, their professionals, and the patient group, to improve both healthcare solutions provided to the patients and the efficiency of care resources.
